Anyone can be appointed to SCOTUS. He doesn’t need a legal education. He certainly doesn’t need to have been a professor who never even practiced law or did a single trial - as many of our Justices are, who view themselves as philosopher kings who don’t even know what goes on in a criminal trial first hand.

We can appoint a homeless guy if we want. What does this tell you? The founders realized these were political positions - not just ‘impartial judges.’ The left figured this out decades ago. The right still doesn’t get it.
