US Elections (& Politics) :)

Your Congress is taking vacation beginning tomorrow and will be off until Sept 2nd.

Let's hope it's an opportunity for their constituents to rag them non-stop about the chitty job they are doing.

Is this a time when recess appointments could be used?

I'm pretty sure she's feeling suicidal about now. And the cameras are ready for maintenance. It'll only take a couple of mins so good news there.

It won't happen...

Read a few articles on this, they wanted Muslim only businesses/workers, their own Gov't, etc...

Trump to pull US out of UNESCO over DEI policies, pro-Palestinian, pro-China tilt

President Trump is pulling the US out of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), citing its anti-America and anti-Israel leanings as well as its woke agenda, The Post has learned.

Trump ordered a 90-day review of America’s presence in UNESCO back in February, with special emphasis on probing any “anti-Semitism or anti-Israel sentiment within the organization.”

Upon conducting the review, administration officials took issue with UNESCO’s diversity, equity and inclusion policies as well as its pro-Palestinian and pro-China bias, a White House official told The Post.

“President Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO — which supports woke, divisive cultural and social causes that are totally out-of-step with the commonsense policies that Americans voted for in November,” White House deputy spokesperson Anna Kelly said.

“This President will always put America First and ensure our country’s membership in all international organizations aligns with our national interests.”

ICE Is Helping Alleviate Pressure On America’s Emergency Rooms

‘Do you have any idea how many resources will be opened up for Americans when the illegals are gone? No more waiting in line at an emergency room, no more massive traffic in Los Angeles,’ Stephen Miller said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is helping alleviate pressure on America’s emergency rooms because illegal aliens believe they might be arrested and deported if they use the emergency services.

Illegal aliens are well-known to abuse such emergency services for non-emergencies, not pay, and leave the American people to pay for it. But the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (LACDHS) confirmed to The Federalist that recent ICE activity is stopping many illegals from seeking emergency services as well as scheduled appointments.

“We can confirm that our health system has in fact seen a decline in both Emergency room visits and in rates of patients showing up to scheduled health appointments,” LACDHS told The Federalist. The department also claimed that “the fear caused by the aggressive approach of the ICE raids has left many in the LA County communities fearing for their safety. Regardless of immigration status, the patients we serve are expressing fear and anxiety.”

LACDHS operates the Los Angeles General Medical Center, which has notoriously long wait times and is “known to have a lot of illegal immigrants,” Dr. Jared Ross, an emergency room physician in Missouri who worked in the LA General emergency room during medical school, told The Federalist. Ross described exorbitant wait times while working there, sometimes 10-plus hours.

With LA General seeing a drop in illegal alien patients, even on top of the state-provided and taxpayer-funded benefits given to them, it is hard to imagine hospitals across the country have not experienced same phenomenon.

“We have a massive problem with ER overcrowding in the country,” Ross added, stating that the issue is extremely complicated and that there are numerous ways that illegals have abused the American health care system.

Congress will subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell to testify about Jeffrey Epstein amid political firestorm

US Congress will subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell, the imprisoned sex trafficker who was a close associate of notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, to testify amid a political firestorm over the Trump administration’s decision not to release its remaining Epstein files.

The Tennessee Republican Tim Burchett introduced a motion to compel Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year-sentence in a Florida prison for crimes related to the Epstein, to testify before the House oversight committee.

The move appears to skirt an announcement early Tuesday that officials from the Department of Justice are also planning to meet with Maxwell.

“We got to send a message to these dirt bags,” Burchett said in a statement posted on X, referring to the list of clients and other Epstein enablers that are assumed to be included in the remaining Epstein files, the details of which are not publicly known.

Since there would be no national security issues, I assume the hearing would be open to the public... :)
