Report: Trump Admin. Has Audio Recording of Interview With Ghislaine Maxwell and is Considering Releasing the Transcript
The Trump Administration may be about to turn over a new leaf when it comes to transparency regarding the ongoing Epstein uproar.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Epstein’s partner-in-crime Ghislaine Maxwell was interviewed by the Department of Justice last month. Maxwell’s attorney, David Markus, told the press after the second day of interviews that his client answered questions about ‘a hundred people’.
Now, CNN reports that the Department of Justice has an audio recording of the interview and is seriously considering releasing it for public consumption.
This is also the first time the recording has been reported.
Should the interview be released, sensitive details like victim names would have to be redacted.
One official told CNN that a final decision has not been reached. Some within the White House believe most Americans have already moved on from the controversy.

Another official told CNN that, within the White House, some of the conversation has focused on whether making the details from the interview public would bring the Epstein controversy back to the surface at a time when many officials close to President Donald Trump believe the story has largely died down.
However, the officials, many of whom have been frustrated with the rollout of the information regarding the Epstein case, have been eager to take control of the narrative and optics around the issue.
Two of the administration officials said if they were to release the audio and transcript, it would likely be done sooner rather than later. One said the release could be several weeks from now, depending on what the most senior-level officials within the West Wing and Justice Department decide. It was not immediately clear whether the White House and DOJ were aligned on the issue.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung issued a salty response to CNN’s report, mocking them for trying to create old news and their low ratings while also pointing out that Trump has already addressed the issue.
“This is nothing more than CNN trying desperately to create news out of old news. Trump already addressed this issue in an interview with Newsmax, a real news outlet that routinely gets better ratings than CNN,” Steven Cheung told CNN.

Case agent advised that no federal prosecution will occur in this matter as long as Epstein continues to uphold his agreement with the State of Florida. Case agent also advised that no further forfeiture assistance will be required for this case. Case agent is requested to contact writer in the event this matter moves forward on a federal level.”
RadarOnline now reports that “the file extends the timeline of Epstein’s ties to the FBI even further back than previously believed.”
The news outlet reported:
A source close to the case told this masthead: “These are the smoking gun documents. They show Epstein was an active source for the FBI way before his plea deal in 2007.”
