Does anyone make an adapter to put a USB camera directly onto an IP network?

Right now, I'm doing it with a laptop, but that's a bit cumbersome for more than two cameras.

Recommendations?

thanks!

Octopi for controlling 3D printing. The webcam USB input is handy for remotely monitoring print jobs. It's not a feed that goes into my surveillance system, but I can VPN in and view the video stream.

I use a raspberry pi to do that (among other things)
That's a good idea. What I need to do is make my USB cameras appear on my network as an IP camera for a surveillance application on a network-attached workstation can see it.

Do you know what besides the Pi I would need? (I have a couple of the RPi devices laying around)
