I'm trying to remotely view my cameras using HIKVISION's DDNS tool, and I'm struggling. Here's what I've done so far:

- configured port forwarding on my router (image pasted at bottom)
- successfully created an account/subdomain for my NVR at us.hik-online.com

...but: when i am logged into my subdomain at us.hik-online.com, the dynamic IP displayed doesn't match the IP address the router says it is currently assigned.

my guess: this has something to do with the way Verizon addresses their 4g routers. i can solve this problem by biting the bullet and paying the monthly fee for a static IP address...but I thought DDNS was supposed to help me get around that.

thoughts? help?

Verizon will not give you a routeable external ip address, you will need to pay 500...
