does anyone have any experience running Blue Iris on an Intel NUC? I have one I use now for another purpose that I remote into when I want to use it. Its powerful and had great specs I7 16g ram, 1TB hard drive, USB3, thunderbolt 3 on USB type C, etc... but...no expansion due to tiny size. So wondering if I would be able to set it up with an external USB to store the BI video files... 1659809878021.png

People have tried and failed.

This is not meant for 24/7 operation and the CPU will get throttled as it heats up.

Although the specs of a USB port say in theory that it can support the necessary bandwidth needs, reality of 24/7 streaming is problematic for it. I tried an external drive on a USB 3.0 port and it started failing within 25 minutes with just two cameras - it just couldn't keep up with the 24/7 demands of constant streaming.

Many have found the 2.5" drives are not sufficient and will ping the CPU at 100%.

But I am sure someone has and got lucky.
