I finally have my NVR going and plan to start installing cameras outdoors. I bought the Hikvision AcuSense DS-2CD2386G2-I and the Hikvision DarkFighter DS-2CD2785G0-IZS to test this out and see which I like better. The turret sits pretty flush with the surface/side of my house out of the box, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to put a layer of some sort of waterproof barrier (such as round cut out piece of silicone) between my house and the camera itself. The dome, if mounted out of the box, has a metallic plate that has concavities and I don't think will sit as flush on the flat surface. Should either these be waterproof as it is if mounted to the vertical sides of my house?
Finally, I found a Hikvision turret with face detection (costs 50% more and I'm not sure I need it). How does this feature integrate with BlueIris? Anyone have any experienced with Hikvision face detection?
