Is there a way to post information in place of a camera? I would like to have a weather webpage and possibly a weather radar webpage live on BlueIris.
Thank You,
Rick Jungerberg
From your own weatherstation? From WeatherUnderground? I use both Blue IrisTools and Siteshoter with Blue Iris to get a weather map with current weather condition overlays and for a 7 day forecast...
You can post a static or animated GIF as done below BUT...be advised the world of weather info online changes about as often as the actual weather and so some of the links are no longer active.
First off, please note that in order to display an animated GIF image as a camera, your Blue Iris must be version 4.7.6.2 or above.
Member @beepsilver brought to my attention the quality animated weather radar loops offered by Intellicast as an alternative to Weather Underground. About the only thing I like about WU is that the animation can be more local (animation covers one weather radar) instead of the larger region covered by Intellicast. If Intellicast offers a more local animation I have yet to discover it.
That being said, that larger animated region provided by Intellicast...
Quick start for a local radar "cam" window... Need to change KAKQ to whatever for your local radar site. Or you can choose the larger national/regional maps. I can't see how to post a direct link with area names for the sites, but go here: National Weather Service Enter your Zip code. Click the radar button at the bottom. Various other services also available but this is quick and easy. As Tony said, they'll change things from time to time so you may need to alter the URL at some point.
ETA: Should have noted too... You'll need to change the Max rate on the video tab so it updates at whatever frequency. I use ~6-10 seconds. Longer than that and mine timeout too much. If it does, then you can just restart the cam but (obviously) don't want to have to do that much.
