I'm trying to set up my fancy new SD49225T-HN camera for remote viewing, which works well if I reduce the resolution of the main stream from 1920x1080 to 1280x720. But then of course I'm lowering the resolution of the Main Stream even inside my network.

So I thought I'd adjust the "sub stream", but apparently the only resolutions available for it are 704x576 and 352x288, which are not only tiny but the wrong aspect ratio (1.2:1 instead of 1.7:1). I don't imagine anyone knows of a way to get usable resolutions from the Sub Stream?

Try Sub Stream 2. It usually has at least a 1280x720 option on most modern Dahua cameras. Then you can let the Main Stream be full resolution.

Those cruddy low res wrong aspect ratio choices are ancient history that still exist today, I guess, for compatibility with much older DVRs.

Aha, thanks for the info. Didn't notice the pulldown to access Sub Stream 2. Working perfectly now.
