What are your IVS best practices?

Ok so I hope I didn't miss it as I think I've read the whole thread now, but why zig zag? How is that more effective than a straight line?
Good question, i don't know.. anyone know?

Just search the forum for zig zag

Have to love such answers. How about make one list with 'all' the answers and stop this complete website.
If one has nothing to contribute better safe yourself the time by 'not' replying

This has been covered comprehensively on the past.

Nothing about the function has changed.

Search box is at top right of every page.

If you look at the archive and have specific question about what has been previously covered bring it to this thread with a link to the previous post.

Zig zag would have to be one of the easiest terms to search for to find appropriate results.

Just stay out of the thread then.. this is helping me and hopefully many others.. instead you have added two useless posts that side track from the discussion. This is how serious questions never get solved cause im sure you'll take this to heart and start a fight.

search for zig zag and you will find pictures and reasoning.

why when i set up my tripwire is green and yours is blue? It cannot work for me :(
Are you trying to auto track or just pick up motion detection? Post some screen shots and explain what you are trying to accomplish

i want to receive in my cell phone when someone cross the tripwire using gdmms plus alert but when i cross the line dont turn into red. there are three photos for smart pss config, dvr config and tripwire lines. Thanks for helping me.

Is that the top of a stairwell? Try using an intrusion box instead. Make it check both appears and cross boxes.. enter and exit in the drop down.. i use blue iris, so notifications are pretty simple to setup .. not sure about alerts.. maybe you can get an email?

Try something more like this or an intrusion box:

I think part of the issue is your camera placement. I've had more issues with rules that go all the way to the edge of the frame. I'd also avoid defining rules that go through objects like portion of railing in the foreground of your image.

I'd also see if moving the camera helps.

the placement of the camera is only for testing it. Very nice the line on the stairs, is a good idea. Im going to put my camera in a real final place and test it on that way. Thanks
