What camera(s) are right for me?

I am building a cabin at fairly remote location, and I would like to install some cameras for both indoor and outdoor use. I have run Cat6 to all of the locations I want cameras but no power, so POE is a must.

I think I am fairly set on HIKvision as the support on the forums seems to be the best, and they seem to be readily available on sites like aliexpress.

I am just wondering what model to get for indoor and outdoor use (bullet vs dome, model, etc...)

I'd like to try to save some money by ordering from overseas, but I don't really want to spare expense on the model.

What do you recommend for indoor and outdoor, and any preferred sellers on aliexpress or other similar sites?

I like the cctv camera china seller on aliexpress. The 2332 (which is a turret) has been very popular lately. Just remember if you buy a chinese region Hikvision camera (practically any 3MP Hikvision on aliexpress is chinese region) then you should NOT upgrade the firmware on it.

Dahua has some 4MP cams coming out that are similarly priced, under $100 each, that could be a good choice for you. They will likely take longer to ship though.

Indoors I recommend the Hikvision 2432.

OK, that camera looks like a good choice (2332)

Which lens should I get with it? I guess what is the best all purpose one for outdoor use? If field of view vs quality of picture comes into play I would choose more cameras over not being able to make out a face or a license plate.

Thanks,

I've seen some good comparison photos on this forum showing the view from different lens, don't remember what thread it was at the moment.
