What happens when a POE RJ45 gets wet...

Soooooo.... this happened today. I had some buried conduit with a junction box to join regular cat5e to exterior cat5e to be able to run bare wire up a tree to a camera. After a torrential down pour and flooding the camera on the tree went out...

My junction box wasn't properly sealed (my mistake) and got completely flooded...here is the aftermath:

After replacing the connectors I had a chance to glob the connectors with dielectric grease and fully seal everything with silicon sealant. Everything should be good now! Lesson learned:

Cam and POE source survive unscathed?
I cannot speak for the OP but the first time it happened to me I was testing on a tree and using a passive POE device and it cooked the pigtail, the cam did survive. The second time using active poe , it also cooked the pigtail, that also did survive.
