what is the "MCU" firmware on Dahua's website?

First, I have NOT (ever) installed any "MCU" firmware and don't intend to until/unless I understand it and see value in it, and hence the reason for this post.

See the screenshot below from Dahua's website for the awesome SD5A425XA-HNR camera. In the past, I have generally only installed the firmware from Andy which matches the naming convention like the second one listed. I am curious about the "MCU" firmware because the one listed first below (circled in red) has a newer date. The release notes only say, "MCU change" which is pretty worthless to help my understanding. Can anyone shed light on what it is, and how it may (or may not) related to the other one? The "MCU" firmware is about half the size, so is it a subset or entirely different or ???

I don't know what MCU means, but I know that PTZ cameras have two firmwares. One for the camera, and one for the ptz function.
