What PC software is the best for hikvision cameras?

if I was to build a dedicated PC as my NVR, what sort of software is the best to use as a recorder for the hikvision cameras??

If you will only use hikvision cameras then the hikvision free vms is a great choice...you dont need a lot of cpu power to run it..
If you want some more flexibility you might consider blue iris, but it will require a more powerful pc..
Try hikvision vms first and see if you like it.

Been using iVMS-4200 for a year now for all my 6 Hiks cameras. For a free tool I like it, but I wish they would improve things. It hasn't been updated since 2013.

I saw that, I had to do some research to actually realize that was the latest. would have thought with the progress of cameras and firmware they would have updated this thing by now.
