Someone dumped some clothes outside this camera. I know I wouldn't get license plates unless the cam was setup for it, but I would like to have been able to ID the model of the car.

What camera settings would you change to improve the image for the future?

Its a very dark street, and a very dark rainy night.

You basically need more zoom, faster shutter speed, and more light.

You can increase the shutter speed to something like a range of 0 - 10ms which will help with blur. But your overall picture will be darker when doing so without also adding additional lighting.

Agree with @biggen

Most folks try to do too much with a single camera. In reality, you need another camera. That one may be ok for your driveway, but to ID cars in the street, you'll need more zoom and more light (IR or white light).

Thanks guys. Was only setup to watch my perimeter rather than the road (which is why its pointing mostly down), but was just hoping I might get a quick win with a setting change.
