What's a good source for corner wire conduit molding?

Hi folks,

Like the title says. I've got lots of cat 6 cable running up the walls in my garage and a few exterior corners, and would like to put it in a nice neat trim molding. Specifically a quarter-round corner (or, could be triangular instead of quarter round). I'll need something like 25 feet worth.

Is there a particular good source for interior/exterior grade corner molding? Doesn't need to be big... just enough to tuck an ethernet cable or two into. I don't want big ones that are an inch on a side... trying to go for "unobtrusive."

Sure I can google with the best of them, but figure the old hands here know the good stuff to use.

Thanks

I'd look at the Wiremold/Legrand site first, decide which series you want. The Cordmate series sold at HD & Lowes is in several short pieces, I think you can get longer, 5 ft. pieces, the site should let you know. There's a PDF 'Cut Sheet' with specs if you choose the 400/800 series.

It may wind up being a special order from HD or Lowes. There are competitors(different brands), I just have not used them so therefore cannot comment.

Check out monoprice, they have I think a 14 ft kit with several lengths and attachments for around $10.

Almost forgot...Panduit is a big player in 'cable' management' as well. Ten foot lengths can be had.

I used lots of their wiring duct & covers inside PLC & electrical control enclosures at pump stations, backup generators, etc.

Hi folks,

I appreciate all the suggestions. In the end I found the Cornerduct 1075 (5 foot sections) was the best fit for the job, and I got them from Electriduct.com which had the best shipped price. Many places had the product at a similar price (~$7.49/stick) but Electriduct shipping was by far the best for this product, that I was able to find. It was still $17.50 to ship, but other places were quoting me ~$30 for shipping. Total price $92 for ten sticks delivered, and it came in about three days from the day I ordered it via Fedex Home delivery.

EDIT: Use coupon code ED2018P10 to get 10% off this year

Thanks for sharing, as I'm sure others will be looking for a similar solution soon. That cornerduct looks very interesting.

Hi Frankenscript,

Feel free to share a couple of pictures from your installation on this to give new people a chance to see what we're talking about.

Sounds like it will be a nice setup.

It's getting there. Here are some pictures of the conduit material, back and front. You can see the adhesive strips on the back with red peel-off plastic keeping the sticky safe:

Still lots to do, and yes I'll get rid of the extra foam...

Oh, a word about my dryer-vent pass through. I was too lazy to punch my own hole through the wall, it's true. There's no dryer there, just a vent port stuffed full of fiberglass wool insulation. I considered it a field-expedient option for feeding some ethernet and RG6 antenna cables through.

Hey, if it works...

One thing you might consider, though...not sure how it is where you live, but here in the rural area where I live all types of critters (birds, field mice, snakes, chipmunks, squirrels, snakes, lizards, and of course, bugs) spend their spare time looking for easy ways into your abode to nest, snack and create havoc.

You can buy a 1 lb. brick of this duct seal compound at HD, Lowes, etc. and plug the open areas. It cheap, doesn't harden, is easily removed/pushed aside for future cables and will keep out drafts, dust and maybe most of the critters. At least make 'em work harder to get in!
