When Camera Is In Night Vision Mode - Lots of White Things Flying Around

not sure what it is, but there is constantly white stuff flying around
bugs? dust or dirt in air ? no idea
but it consistently sets off cameras, just wondering if there is a fix for this

Looks like bugs. Also will get dust and mist and rain too lighted up bright like that with IR. Best solution is to get away from regular old motion detection and use AI in some form to filter out falses.

yeah these are some cameras from an old system i had that "do the job" for now, problem is im not sure if i can get the AI to work
i am just running a swann system through the blue iris

I use on-cam AI so I've not done much with it myself but there are some threads here related to setting up CodeProjectAI for BI. Might take a look at those, I don't think it matters much what the stream comes from.

Disabling the cam's IR and installing an outboard IR emitter away from the cam won't eliminate bug alerts but it can mitigate some. The biggest difference is the bugs head toward the outboard IR emitter instead of the cam but if the IR emitter is too close to the cam they'll still fly in front of the cam on their way to the emitter so it depends on your physical layout / situation.
