Where is the time pulled from when viewing clips?

Happy Thursday everyone :)

I've been viewing some clips today, an example is shown below. This particular camera is set to record the time on the Video and the time in the top left hand corner of the replaying clip is totally out of sync. I'm assuming the information is pulled from the saved files, but I cannot find any saved with correspond to that actual date and time information. Also, if I'm not recording the time on the actual videos is there a way to easily tell the date and time it was recorded? I've looked through help, etc, but am stumped
