Which camera should I get?

Hello to all on this post and thanks to all in advance for your help and input.

I'm currently looking to add 2 Hikvision domes to my setup, I'm undecided between the following.[h=1]DS-2CD2342FWD-I 4MP WDR (Turret) or the DS-2CD2342FWD-I 4MP WDR or DS-2CD2742FWD-IS varifocal lens[/h]

which of these cameras will give the best overall night vision image?

You pasted the 1st model (DS-2CD2342) twice, not sure if it is on purpose.
The two models (2342, 2742) have the same 4MP electronics. Their IR seems to have the same claimed range. The 2742 has a f/1.4 lens vs a f/2.0 for the 2342, so that will give you better night vision (one stop, i.e. 2x the light).
The 2742 has a variable focal (2.8-12mm), so you can tune the coverage precisely (vs. fixed 2.8mm or 4mm or a never-seen-sold 6mm for the 2342). Finally, the 2742 comes with SD storage and optional I/O/Audio and optional motorized lens.

The downside of the 2742 is the price (about 3x). Looks and mechanical are different, but that is a matter of application and personal preference.
 
2742 will likely have both good and bad IR, as the IR is going to be pointed for only a certain view.
The IR on the turrent will be a solid/bright
