London
Hi folks thanks in advance for any help

I have a house in London with existing cat 6a network and a rack built
about 8 years ago. I left 4 x dedicated cat 6a lines for a 4 CCTV system but never finished the project!

What NVR and cameras are recomended? Id like to spend no more than £300 (circa $375). Second/ ebay might be an option

My needs in more detail:

NVR
1. Unit that will sit in the rack but doesnt have to be rack mounted
2. support PoE over the existing cat 6a since i dont want further camera power lines
3. Will support a tv to be permanently showing live images
4. Can have some own storage but ideally stream to the cloud (I have a subscription)
5. Support mobile phone access for multiple users
6. interface for camera config and video recall
7. Reliable start and forget - no revooting crashing etc.
8. Can wire connect to domestic network for cloud / remote access
9. I dont fancy a PC/Blue Iris option

Cameras
1. PoE Ip based
2. Need range of around 10 metres at the rear, 5 metres at front.
3. excellent night vision
4, motion recording only
5. robust / maybe dome based to avoid vandalism
6. Reliable / well made handles heat and cold etc
7. Long life operation

thank you kindly for your help

Yep, that don't exist at that price point. You will find systems at that price point, but that is the only criteria it will meet...

Don't be fooled by the Arlos and Rings with their cloud based claims. A true camera that can meet your excellent night vision and range of 10 meters will not happen with cloud based systems. These cameras take a lot of data done right.

For example, the Reolink that @Flintstone61 provided will meet your price point and not much else...

This is an example from Reolink's marketing videos - do you see a person in this picture...yes, there is a person in this picture. This is why you cannot buy a system based on marketing terms like Starlight.... Could this provide anything useful for the police? Would this protect your home? The still picture looks great though except for the person and the blur of the vehicle... Will give you a hint - the person is in between the two columns:

Heres an affordable dependable recorder. But you have to bring your own hard drive.
which is another $150, plus you still need cameras
Amcrest NV4108E-HS 4K 8CH POE NVR (1080p/3MP/4MP/5MP/6MP/8MP/4K) POE Network Video Recorder - 8-Channel Power Over Ethernet Supports up to 6TB HDD (Not Included), Supports up to 8 x 8MP/4K IP Cameras

You can certainly come up with 4 cameras and a sub par nvr with a crappy desktop hard drive in that price range.
thats how many of us ended up stopping by here. Poor performance. Dismal user interfaces.

Currently the go to range of cameras are the 5442's. They are 4mp. There are other 2mp cameras that are often recommended here also but i don't know the model numbers. It may be possible to save a few £ using these instead.

I'll leave it to others running the 2mp versions to contribute

You'll still be in the £600 ball park though

Welcome @CautiousHomeOwner

If you are super tight on your budget, I'd start with just one good camera ...
