HI All

What are some recommended options for a PTZ to add to my two HD5231R-Z cameras?

Do not need much zoom. Will spend up to 350 USD, if that will get my a reasonable performer?

Thanks

Exactly,
the SD49225T-HN is in my opinion the best PTZ for the price.
I have 2 of them the image quality is even better than my SD6CE245u_HNI
and that costs more than double.

Hi
SD49225T-HN seems to not have auto-tracking functionality.
@Fred2000 can you confirm the SD49225T-HN image quality is better than SD6CE245u-HNI, checking the specs, they both use the same Image Sensor

Ok. Need the auto tracking feature.

Hello,
@Oblar although the image of both SD49225 is much more stable than my SD6CE245, the SD6CE always has a slight flicker. I also have cloudy areas on the SD6CE. I actually expected the opposite, since the SD6CE has a higher signal-to-noise ratio (>55 SD6 and >50 SD49). I could mitigate the problem a bit by turning off 2 DNR and setting 3 DNR to 100%. I have now tested several weeks different settings but I could not yet achieve the image quality of the SD49 with the SD6CE.

Is the main advantage of a PTZ then over a critical is that i won't have to climb a ladder to adjust the view?
With the ideal view and placement, along with some trial and error i recommend the sd59225u-hni.

I have a SD5923OU-HNI, and speaking for myself it's been a major disappointment. Flashes black every time there's an alert for example. Andy said it's a "known issue", I'm still waiting on new firmware to hopefully fix it. The auto-tracking, well just good luck with that. My anecdotal experience is your much better off with placing more fixed cams. Others may have a different opinion, I'm just sharing mine.
