Windows 10 EOS (22H2) Oct. 14, 2025

SECOND WINDOWS 10 PC UPGRADE TO WIN11, SUCCESSFUL!!!

I am two machines away from saying Goodbye to Windows 10, one an old laptop and a HTPC with 2nd gen Proc. hahaha, it would be a miracle for either one of them, hahaha

This PC is a bit different from the first. I installed a TPM 2.0 module which PC Health Clearly shows Active, as does my BIOS, plus I do not get the AsIO.sys Error like my first PC without the module. So I am leaning that Secure Boot is working.

But MSINFO on WIN10 and now WIN11 shows Secure Boot State Off:

Still Updating, what I noticed with this PC as well as my first, is the ISO available on the flyby11 site, which is recommended requires an update after WIN11 install.
You do have the option to download the ISO directly from Microsoft, which is probably more up to date, but glad I did it this way so I can verify Updates work.

Still checking programs but so far all are working great, Office, Outlook, QuickBooks which are both older versions. Thunderbird worked too. Browsers actually kept my open Tabs, wow, nice. RDP worked right away...

Looks like another Update coming which is great since it was one of my main concern doing this.

WIN11 is also showing Activation Checked:

DONE: all programs worked, all up to date:

I know I am only 2 days into this with two PCs successfully upgraded from WIN10 to WIN11, but from what I am experiencing, I would recommend this flyby11 installer. It is not a hack, just a work around to Microsoft's WIN11 hardware check/requirements by using Windows Server Installer, which is a non-bloated version of Windows, well the NOS is...so Windows Server does not do any hardware requirement checks...

Just so ya'll know, WIN11 core is pretty much WIN10, only reason for hardware requirements in WIN11 is due to Microsoft and everyone else pushing their AI upon us all which require alot more processing/memory...you will see even more in WIN12

You know while on the throne, :), I got to thinking, why was Updates such a big deal for me not doing this? What is the difference, WIN10 will lose it's updates after Oct. 2025 this year or if WIN11 updates did not work, same thing right?

Why update -if your using BI ?? I will stick with Win 10 and updates off........

Good point, I don't allow my BI PC on the Internet. I temporarily connect from time to time to do BI and WIN updates...

BI set aside, I still recommend other WIN10 PCs this upgrade.

Great, thanks for posting this.

I take it that you did not have to reload all of your other software?

I have three systems still on W10 that MS says do not meet hardware requirements. These three systems are ones that I have built several years ago. It is my plan to re-build these systems to a more current CPU and put W11 on them. But I doubt that I will have the time to do this before the end of the year.

1. My BI machine is an i7-8700.
2. Wife's desktop is an i7-7700K.
3. My desktop is an i7-3770K.

Glad you posted the info above. I think that I will try that out on these systems and hope that I can postpone rebuilding them until 1Q26.

I really dread the rebuild as I do not cherish trying to reload all of the software on each of these systems.
the i7-8700 is supported on W-11, Most manufactured PC's with that chip would have the Trusted Platform Module that meets W-11 prerequisites.

Zero. It was the best upgrade I have ever experienced. Still blown away that the browsers even kept their open tabs.

This is my first Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade, none of my PCs were qualified. My new laptop came with WIN11 installed, my Gaming PC I did a clean WIN11 install.

Back when I upgraded to WIN10 from WIN7/8 it was ok but I had some programs that needed to be reinstalled since they did not work, the upgrade was not bad, but this upgrade blows it away and I have some old programs I still use.

Rarely do I brag about Microsoft but they hit this one out of the park. I am helping a friend this morning over the phone upgrade his PC.

Just run PC Health Check, it will tell you if you can upgrade. If not, use flyby11

FYI, I just used the Flyby11 3.0 (Classic)

Watch this video, language pick is Important (English - United States), not English International which the installer defaults to...

Like with all new O/Ss there is going to be a transition, if you haven't used WIN11 before. Once I got use to it, I like..

I have to add one more thing.

Remote Desktop (RDP) I have noticed is much better now connecting my main WIN11 PC to the newly upgraded WIN11 PCs. It is snapper is all I can describe, a noticeable difference from when they were running WIN10. I have 3 sessions going at all times, one is connected to Ubuntu running Home Assistant in a VM
