Wired LAN Speed

Network Utilities just got deleted in Big Sur. Looking at the apps there are a couple that would do the job.

Good to know, my machine will not go beyond Catalina. You can check via terminal window, if you're comfortable with command line interface (CLI).

Keep in mind, whether you look via Network utility or CLI, the speed displayed is only the negotiated speed. It is not a real-time representation of how your connection is performing.

Your switch is a 100Mbps Switch. Cat5e supports 1000Mbps. (theoretically). I still use it for the Condo. Imagine the whole world streaming gigabit Cameras. "Yeah but it's got 80 Megapixels!" I can see Uranus!

All three switches are 1000s. Replacing one cable brought the speed up.
