Going to run my cable soon for my new home. To tie my Blue Iris server to the internet would a wireless card be sufficient for remote access?

Like TheDank says, as long as all the cameras are wired to the same switch that the PC is wired to, wireless access for monitoring purposes should be fine. I monitor my system using UI3 all day every day from multiple laptops that connect wirelessly.

Thanks guys. Was thinking the same thing. It would solve running cat6 to the router or switch. Will make my life much simpler. Hope everyone is being safe.

Do remember though that you are adding a second WiFi connection to the mix, and in "series" as well. Depending on a ton of variables it could overload the bandwidth and result in poor performance. Not saying it will, necessarily, but something to consider.

I'm still considering moving the router closer and hard wiring it. It's hot in the attic. I'm procrastinating.
