I am trying to get my 16 channel poe nvr set up and have been reading a lot of posts. The Nvr is internal nic ipv4 is 192.168.254.1. My router available up addresses are 192.168.254.64 to 192.168.264.253. Do I need to change the internal nic to something else?

Hi @Kydoghunter

Most NVRs with POE ports have a subnet for the cameras and an IP for the WAN port.

IF you are going to connect the NVR to the router, the NVR's WAN port needs to be in the router's subnet.

Remember NOT to port forward.
Remember to turn off UPnP and P2P on your router before connecting the NVR to it.
Remember to see the notes in the wiki w/regards to securing your setup.
