Wow! This guy is genius!

Yeah I know LOL. I have been doing LPR a long time.

My point is most interstates will be lit up more than a residential neighborhood and look how much that one struggled, so this will be an awesome image to show the NOOB.

And then we get the NOOB here in a dark subdivision expecting to capture color LPR with a few 5watt solar lights lol.
Hey, be nice to @CanCuba

It's mind blowing the amount of critical severity hacks that come literally just from guessing passwords or default passwords.

That is why we here laugh at the ban the USA has on Dahua and Hikvision.

The real issue that the ban and NDAA doesn't address that EVERY camera can be hacked, even NDAA cameras and NVRs. Don't let your cameras touch the internet and you won't have a problem.

Well known NDAA compliant companies have been hacked, thus showing that the ban and only using NDAA compliant devices like Verkada doesn't protect you if you give them internet access.

It is why we recommend DO NOT LET YOUR CAMERAS OR NVR TOUCH THE INTERNET. You isolate them via VLAN or dual NIC.

Countless examples like this showing how easy it is to tap into someone's video feed.

Couldn’t agree more. Dahua you definitely also run the risk of Tencent Spyware, but on the network security side it’s all the same.

Respectfully, I thought verkada was complete shit too. Overpriced, sales people didn’t seem to understand what they were talking about and just pushed AI buzzwords, and they constantly advertise free stuff to lock you into a subscription.

Yep. Too many companies have jumped on the NDAA bandwagon and sell subpar performing cameras and NVRs at a premium price all under the disguise of being secure, which they are not.
