Hello looking for a little help with what the settings (if any boxes need to be ticked or not ) need to be within Blue Iris to run the Wyze v3 indoor/outdoor cameras. I already have the cams setup in the Wyze app with RTSP mode running. Just need direction on the settings within Blue iris! I have revisited this in the past and want to try again and maybe eliminate the drops. Thanks

If it already has V3 f/w as you said, jump ahead to about the 10 minute mark:

Thanks . What is the best fps that should be set in BI for these cams ?
I have mine set to 20 which I think was the max but I'm running the mini-hacks vs the Wyse RTSP. Set FPS as high as it goes. The bitrate is low so it won't make much difference as far as resources used.

They kind of suck overall. I spent way too much time messing with the things. Very sensitive to WiFi signal in addition to dropping off for various other reasons. Best thing that you can do is to run the mini-hacks and a hardwired POE Ethernet adapter. Actually not... best thing is to get something different with better support for RTSP, ONVIF, etc., and onboard AI.

Just a tidbit of info for you @atrain99.....many of the Tapo line cameras from TP-LINK provide RTSP and some ONVIF compliance, are very cheap and small in size. Granted, most of the really small ones are Wi-Fi only and are powered by a 9VDC wall wart. They also have no embedded webGUI but are initially configured with a phone app but stream very reliably and with decent quality.....for a cheap Wi-Fi only camera. They stream directly to your network, not via the cloud, P2P, etc. when set up properly. A few months after I set one up TP-LINK updated the firmware so the cam could have a static IP, when first introduced their IP's were set via DHCP.

I've had a sub-$20 C-110 streaming to Blue Iris reliably since Oct. of '22 => Blue Iris Camera Compatibility.

Here's a list of the Tapo cameras that provide RTSP => How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol

Thanks so much for the information. So I had the newer version of these and they made my network go crazy lol even with the TP Link Decco mesh router ....as soon as I removed them my network was good again. I wonder if the new tapo cams was the prob and I need these older ones?

Thanks for the info on this camera. I have it all hooked up and working in BI. The one thing I notice is I dont have any dropouts which is good but the the seconds on the clock freeze up or jump in time and any movement on the camera is delayed? is there any settings to fix this ?

In BI, under "Video" => "Configuration", insure that "Send RTSP keep-alives" is UNchecked.

If it's the Tapo you're talking about, what happens with the date/time when you stream to VLC? Mine are rock-steady to VLC.
Try this URL in VLC, be sure to place 2 "/" after "RTSP:" as the forum won't allow 2 to be displayed consecutively here.

Code:
rtsp:/Camera-username:Camera-password@Camera-IP:554/stream1

Thanks so I have the tapo c110 streaming in VLC . I unchecked send keep alives in BI and the time and secs pause and jump forward. The only box checked in BI is "use rtsp/stream timecode"

Wyze App on Blue Stacks 5 for Wyze Cams on BI - No Go!

Have a junk box of V2/V3 Wyze cams to see if they would work with BI using a Windows 11 desktop with Blue Stacks 5, the Windows Android emulator. Presently use all Dahua cams on BI.

Issue
Wyze App - "Select Network" On App Screen Blank With No Listing - No WiFi Networks Discovered using Wyze App on Blue Stacks.

Is it a Wyze app, Blue Stacks, router, WiFi or setting issue?

Process
Installed the latest Wyze app (version 2.48.1-381) from the Play Store on a Windows 11 desktop (i7-11700) using Blue Stacks 5 (version 5.22.100.1024 P64).

The desktop is connected via CAT-5e to an Asus router with 2.4 GHz WiFi turned on. i.e. other WiFi devices (phone and other smart plugs, etc) connect to the 2.4 GHz band without issue.

When adding a new device in the Wyze app the "Select Network" screen is blank and with green bar 1/4 of the bar width. i.e. no networks are listed and the process stops at this point.

select_network.png

Tried adding a wired Wyze Cam Ver 2 and Ver 3 along with a Wyze smart plug. All are no go with the same blank "Select Network" screen.

Also installed Blue Stacks on a Windows 11 laptop (i5-1155G7) with 2.4 GHz WiFi with the same result.

Removed the Wyze app from the Windows 11 desktop and side loaded an older APK 64 bit version of the Wyze app into Blue Stacks. The same no show on "Select Networks".

The phone, a Moto G7 Play will not load the Wyze app from Google Play. Most likely it is a 32 bit cell. Side loaded an older APK 32 bit Wyze app to the cell and it loads and runs. However, it will not accept login data. Most likely a Wyze 'security' issue as they say!

Tried a number of suggestions on the net, but so far no WiFi connect or listing of available networks.

Suggestions on what to try next would be appreciated. Or maybe just 'deep 6' the box of Wyze cams and call it a day!!
