Ran across this today and wondering what your first impressions are. It's hook? They state "Designed for large properties, farms, and off-grid areas, MileFlask uses cutting-edge Wi-Fi HaLow (900MHz) to deliver long-distance connectivity, far beyond traditional Wi-Fi limits. No monthly 4G fees, no SIM cards — just powerful, stable wireless surveillance."
We'll see!

It looks like the only significant thing this offers over existing wifi battery powered cameras is longer wireless range. Probably usable only via their mobile app and reliant on their cloud services still being online.

I wouldn't buy it expecting more than a few years before they shittify the service and start charging a recurring fee (or just plain shut down and brick everyone's devices).

Even if they build it to not need an internet connection for device setup or normal operation, it is a near certainty it will be built so that 100% of all functions go through a proprietary mobile app.

^^^ Both good insights.

Crap name. That alone is likely to kill it. Marekting is always the 1st key to any business. Mile-Flash might have been better but maybe there were reasons why they couldn't / didn't want to use that. Just not seeing the "flask" bit.

2nd observation, the low light pictures further down the page don't look good at all to my eyes in either B&W or colour. They just look like someone has turned the brightness setting way up.
