The youth of today thinking they're having harmless fun. Same group blew a guys front door off it's hinges 10 minutes later a few blocks away. They were later caught by Police after neighbor of door guy (with a doorbell cam that the main dude looked right into) and myself provided the P with videos. Police are waiting for insurance quotes to decide how to charge.

Seems the kids decided on a Wednesday night to go marauding and continued into early Thursday morning - being video recorded here at 3am (if the date/time stamp is accurate). The kid who went up to the door, apparently regarding himself as the badass of the bunch, has a life of crime in front of him. All the parents should receive a hefty financial penalty - really make it hurt - perhaps in the neighborhood of $5k each. That should teach the parents to keep a tight reign on the kids.

According to Des Moines City Ordinances here, a search reveals no curfew exists for a roving band of turds out at 3 AM looking for trouble. Interesting.

I'd like to see the DA charge them with criminal mischief, attempted arson and attempted B & E to scare the crap out of all of them, let them go with probation and about 80 hours of community service to be served ONLY on Saturday, picking up trash in City park, washing police cars, etc. And last but not least, fine the parents enough so that THEY will impose their own curfew and keep an eye on the little wannabes before their actions lead to bigger things and a career of bigger crimes.

Insurance quotes? If it goes through their insurance the insurance company will just turn around and sue the kids parents.
