Hikvision Raptor 2 v5.2.0

Looks like 5.2.0 has hit the FTP site. ftp://ftp.hikvisionusa.com/

Obvious changes include:

- Multi languages are back (if the camera is EN region)!
- Cloud service support
- SSH daemon
- No face detection
- "Dual-VCA which can be used cooperatively with NVR to implement dual-VCA retrieval during playback"

There's probably others - these are what I noticed.

Also I would like to confirm tested with my region change solution and no problems observed, either for people who changed before 5.2.0 or whilst 5.2.0 is loaded.

Can you tell me the password to access the FTP site to download 5.2? Has anyone installed it without problems?

5.2.0 has reduced line traversal to one line as well as removal of the FTP daemon.
That's kinda of a game killer for me.
The good news is if enough people show interest CBX may do the work to fix it.

I'm seriously considering providing those people a 5.2.0 patch to give back FTPD and 4 traversal lines again for no additional charge.

They also removed face detection and the ftpput/get commands. Also, onvif/snapshot no longer works. I have it running on 2 cameras to see what it's about, one USA version and one China version. They put some safeguards in because if I make the same code change from Chinese to English, it hangs the camera and you have to do a TFTP to get it back. Not a big deal since 5.1.6 has more in it than 5.2, so not sure the value yet of going to 5.2.

The thing that annoys me most is all these things are undocumented.

There are improvements, but networkcameracritic is right - there are negative elements.

catseyenu is correct that if there is enough demand, I'll provide any one who has used my region code changer a patch for 5.2.0 to restore the line detection 4 lines, face detection and FTP server back for no additional charge.

Can somebody provide screen pics of the functionality added in version 5.2.0 relative to version 5.1.6 and a list of the functionality removed in order to ascertain if there is a benefit to upgrade to 5.2.0?

On top of that is there any relation of the firmware camera firmware 5.2.0 with the latest HIK NVR firmwares 2.3.8 and 2.3.9beta.

I have a HIK 2332 (non chinese version) with firmware 5.1.6 (June 2014 edition) connected to a HIK NVR 7604NI-SEP with firmware 2.3.7 (June 2014 edition), I have enabled the motion detection at the NVR (which was working fine) (by the way the NVR firmware does not know anything about the extra Enents functionality of the camera for the events or the image parameters like WDR and auto IR switching) and when I enabled at the same time the Traversing virtual plane detection at the camera, I do not receive the email notifications from the NVR motion detection. Instead I receive only the traversing plane detection email notifications from the camera. This is confusing to say the least. It is obvious that the firmware development of the camera and the NVR at HIK do not happen synchronised. This causes functionality conflicts as the one described above.

Added? Eviz cloud storage under Network/Platform Access and SSH.

Traversing Virtual Plane (4 fields) is replaced with line crossing detection (1 field).
Face Detection and Scene Change detection are also removed.
Remoting in by FTP is no longer available.

You've nailed one of my biggest disappointments with the Hikvision product, the camera and NVR don't seem to speak the same language.
This is true of their IVMS software as well.
It is like buying a car and discovering the steering wheel does not work.
Hikvision is young and moving fast, hopefully this will be remedied soon.
I haven't tried 2.3.9, 2.3.8 does little to improve synchronization between the camera and the NVR.
