How much RAM will I need for BI setup with 12-20 4MP cameras?

Hi,
I've been reviewing the forum trying to decide "how much computer" I really need to run my potential setup.
One thing I have not read much about is how much RAM memory BI needs nor how much adding additional cameras, (assuming I'd do a 24/7 recording & motion events for all cameras) will add to the increased memory needs.

I have been looking at computers with i7-6700 CPU and 8-16GB.
I plan to have around 8-12 4MP cameras initially but plan for a future maximum of up to 20.

Oh, also I think frame rate matters in this guess too so I want to assume maybe 20fps on all cameras.

Is there a way to calculate or otherwise make an educated estimate of how much RAM I will need?

Will a computer that used DDR3 vs. DDR4 affect this much?

Overanalysing..That's me to a Tee. I have been doing quite a bit a bit of over-analyzing. But there is so much info on this site.
Finally bought a system off eBay last week...They sent the wrong system...now waiting for my cash back to try again.
