I recently cutover all 12 of my cameras to direct-to-disc due to high CPU utilization. However, I don't think it's working because:
1) CPU Utilization still pushing 90+%
2) I still see Blue Iris text overlays on the videos

For #2 - I would have expected those to disappear and just the text on my camera setup showing.

Rig:
HP Desktop
CPU: Core i7-2600 @ 3.4Ghz
RAM: 4G
Disk: SSD 120G for new videos / database
300G for local archives / OS

Cameras:
5 x Foscam
1 x Microseven
4 x GW Security
2 x Owl Cam

Thoughts? I've restarted Blue Iris several times and am running version: 4.4.9.6 x64

1) Are you running the demo??? Direct to disc will not work on the demo.
have your tried restarting the pc? are you viewing on a monitor directly connected to the pc? do you have a discrere video card?
2) the overlay will still show up on live video...do you see the overlay on recorded video?

1) Running licensed version - have not restarted the PC yet, but will try that to see if it improves performance. I was viewing over VNC and via the web interface. I'm using the onboard Intel video adapter.
2) Ah this was my mistake. I thought the overlay would go away on live video. It is indeed gone from recorded video. Unfortunately, still high CPU

I'll try rebooting still to see if that helps improve performance.
