I would like to use a couple of old IPhones as IP cameras. I did read this post and tried to follow it. Using IP Webcam with Blue Iris I did not work for me. I have IP Camera loaded as well as a couple of other ones. IPCam, WebOfCam LiveReporter. I can get it to display on a computer web browser but not in Blue Iris. Has anyone been able to do this and what App have they used for it as well as the settings used.

Thanks

This is a multistep process that requires both BI and the accompanying BI iPhone client app.

Step 1 - Create a new camera in Blue Iris and click "OK"

Step 2 - On the next screen press "Cancel"

Step 3 - On the new camera's video tab select "Broadcast from client app"

Step 4 - Open the iPhone app and double tab on the newly created camera.

Step 5 - Connect the camera to your Wifi (iPhone must already be connected to your wifi network).

Step 6 - iPhone camera should now be connected to Blue Iris

For the camera to work continuously you must leave the BI app open on your phone. You will also need to disable the auto-lock function on your phone.

Enjoy.... I hope this helps.

I loaded the app and created the camera as per the example. When I get to step 4 and press and hold the iPhone camera I never get the controls to select wifi connection for the camera.

Try double tapping instead of press and holding.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing on the iPhone?

Here are the screen shots. When I hold my finger on the screen a small box appears on the screen but noting is in it. I did this with both a iPhone 5 and 6 as well as an older ipad.

I looked at the reading instead of the pictures. There is one that is called "Blue Iris Client" so I got that one. When I used the correct one it worked great. You do have to double tap to get it to start.

Thanks

Sorry about the confusion, I assumed you had the app that Ken Pletzer developed. IMHO it is by far superior to anything else available.

Hi, I was having trouble connecting my Iphone 5s using IP Webcam app to Blue Iris v4, after trying many different settings, I changed the video compression in IP Webcam app to .1 and use "MJPEG steam" as Make/Model and Path is "/live?camera=0&fps=5&quality=75&resolution=320x240", also I found connection the Iphone to my 5GHZ Wifi network, i got 18 fps! ,I hope it helps,
