I've now got 2 of these cameras; one covering my driveway, the other my front door. Running both with BlueIris. Both running latest f/w from March.

I came across the following blog entry: Using IP camera based PIR sensors with Blueiris (site is down, had to use Google's cached version). I was hoping to do something similar, only using the IVS instead of IR.

My problem is that I don't see the "Relay Output" option as listed in the manual. Was this removed with the latest f/w? How can I get the camera's built in IVS to trigger an alarm so that BI can see it and record the video?

I was hoping to do something similar, only using the IVS instead of IR.

IVS is Intelligent Video Systems and IR stands for Infra Red (a part of the spectrum that human eyes are not sensitive to) and a PIR is aPassive Infra Red Sensorthat senses motion from objects that cause a thermal change, such as a warm body or object moving in front of them.

IVS is an "intelligent" triggering system that alerts either the camera that an event (intrusion, tripwire, abandoned object, missing object, etc) has occurred and causes a signal to be sent. IR is just a part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The biggest issue with these awesome cameras is the lack of I/O because with them we can really start doing some really clever stuff. The sensor rocks but lack of I/O is a PIA.

Dahua's "IVS" and Hikvision's "Smart Events" each have their own unique commands they send when those events trigger (plus their own unique ways of how to connect to the cameras to even look for those commands). BI would have to be programmed with those details. It doesn't support them now.

As far as I know, the only thing that supports Dahua IVS events are Dahua NVRs. I think someone has written a little program that you can run that looks for them, so that might be able to be modified to connect to BI (using JSON?) and kick off a recording when it sees an IVS event.

I think there's a couple guys on here returning cameras to Andy. Here's my research on shipping costs:
UPS - $120 deliver 2-3 business days
Fedex - $100 deliver 2-3 business days
DHL - $96 deliver 2 business days
USPS - $22.75. 7-10 days.

I'll let you guess which one i chose...

If you have PAL version, you can easily change it to NTSC by installing the NTSC firmware that is listed on the first page of this thread. I just did that myself today.

I'm able to see the picture on http://192.168.1.108/ on my PC, but PTZ doesn't seem to be working. Is there something I'm missing on how to do it? I've got it powered by ethernet cable only.

For upgrading firmware, in Dahua NVR do I go to Settings>System>Upgrade and apply the file there? I tried that with the file in post #1 and it gave me an update failed error.

Pan and Title aren't supported for this camera. Zoom works fine for me thru BI using the +/-. I'm not sure I'd worry about the PAL/NTSC thing. Digital is digital.

Wow that's disappointing... right on Dahua's product info page it says:

Pan/Tilt/Rotation Range
Pan:0˚~360˚; Tilt:0˚~78˚; Rotation:0˚~360˚

Thats how much it can turn manually once you mount it. It doesn't have motorized pan/tilt. The good news is if its not what you need you'll have no problems selling it.

Still haven't been able to get optical zoom working on any of my 3 cameras, I've tried from my Dahua NVR at http://192.168.1.108 and via TinyCam on my Android phone.

@mordak After downloading firmware, did you unzip it? The upgrade is done with *.bin file.

Also, zoom for my HDW5231R works on my side both from Dahua web UI and Blue Iris. This camera is not a PTZ camera.

As a warning, I purchased two of the cameras discussed in this thread from this retailer on December 2nd, 2016. As of today, I still do not have them. They claim they were "lost" by the ePacket delivery and are now sending them via DHL. The DHL tracking number was provided three days ago and no updates have been posted since DHL received the shipment info.

Eagle Vision Security so far gets a big thumbs down from me.

Additionally, I ordered one HDW5231R-Z from pchomeestore168 on eBay on 10/03/2016 and did not receive it until 12/2/2016. The camera is great! The ePacket is slow.

I'm in contact with Andy to order a few more now.

I just wanted to warn people as well that I had the same experience with Eagle vision security. They claim that the original epacket delivery was cancelled by the post office. I finally noticed with 5 days left to dispute and they claim to have sent via DHL. 6 days later, DHL still stating they did not physically receive shipment and eagle vision security keeps bullying me into closing a dispute. Please do not order from them as they are not to be trusted and at the least do not tell the truth.
