Blue iris freezes on startup

Hello everyone! I just purchased BlueIris for my cameras. I installed the program and it freezes the whole computer when I try to start it up. I have to reboot to start using windows again. I'm currently running Win10. Do I need a specific patch file?
 
First question is, what are the specs of your computer that you're running BI on?
 
make sure you have a clean install of windows and all updates installed...by clean i mean clean via microsofts media creation tool

I install win10 via upgrade from win8.1 when it was free. I'm not familiar with Microsofts media creation tool.

you need to perform a clean install...in place upgrade is a big no no for stability..become familiar with the tool, google is your friend.
