Connecting Amcrest Poe dome Cameras to Hikvision NVR ?

I'm trying to connect 6 Amcrest Poe 3mp to my new Hikvision model Ds-7600 series . The problem is that thHikvision NVR doesn't see the Amcrest IP when connected into the Hikvision Poe NVR .

I spent so my money on this and I'm newbie at this stuff

.ive invested month looking at any information everywhere and couldn't find anything,

Try turning off DHCP on the camera (if it has that feature) and make sure the IP address on each camera matches the IP address that the NVR is assigning to the cameras. Make sure the default gateway address is also matching.

Go to the web interface of your nvr on your LAN,look at the camera management page.see how the first 4 cameras on mine are plug and play for hikvision 192.168.254.2 that's the ip that the nvr uses for plug and play,
Look down to number 5 camera it has been added manually from a switch and has its IP address added and its security entered.
So you will need to get each IP address of all your cameras and write them down and there passwords and add them to each channel,you might have to click on protocol and use onvi I'm not sure what the amcrest camera use.
Some one might know but as lazona says turn off the dhcp on the amcrest camera,as this will make it a static ip for the camera.hit save and its should say connecting then once that's done hit save on the bottom right of the page.and then do it again for each camera.
Once all done and working take a photo from your phone and save it.
I could be handy in the future if something is unplugged and not put back,
In the correct Poe port.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Amcrest rebranded Dahua?
The Amcrest PoE needs to be configured as Private or ONVIF when being added to the Hikvision NVR

yay,, after a couple people working with my system, back in forth with clueless Amcrest and a little help with Hikvision help desk. the biggest connection problem was the simpliest since this was my first time doing this on my own. for the newbies like me who looking what i did to connect a Hikvision NVR to a AMCREST POE Cameras. this is what i had to do ,, for the pros, this is not brainer . for changes to your camera configuration, your camera needs to be connected to your router and the second wire to the camera must connected to a power adapter 12v. first set password to cameras (using amcrest desktop app) to match password to Hikvision NVR (using the tv screen hikvision menu). example for password for NVR and Cameras use Apple2030 (one upper case and lower case with numeric so the system accept a strong password)

second change your amcrest cameras ip to 192.168.254.101 and the ip gateway to 192.168.254.1 before you can do that, uncheck the dchp so it becomes static ip that allows you to change your ip. after this unplug your camera from router and plug into Hikvision NVR POE 1

Third go to your hikvision setup menu,
add ip camera,

change protocol from Hikvision to ONVIF (youll have a selection of manufacturers Sony, Bosch, Samsung etc.. change it to ONVIF for Amcrest

click first camera line 1,
click edit,
change ip address from 192.168.254.1 to 192.168.254.101 and gateway to 192.168.254.1

hit save, voila!!

repeat for camera 2 use 192.168.254.202 and gateway to 192.168.254.1

repeat for camera 3 use 192.168.254.303 and gateway to 191.168.254.1

repeat for camera 4 use 192.168.254.404 and gateway to 191.168.254.1

and the next camera in a different last digits .404 .505 .606 .607 etc.. makes sure all cameras have the same password as the Hikvision NVR

just a reminder before doing this,, in the hikvision NVR , go to management and reset settings to your NVR so it cleans everything back to the default to the mess youve created.

Thank YOU LaZona, im new at this and took my awhile how to figure out the ip adddress and the ip gateway address works. since the Hikvision creates its own IP address rule that i did not understand and modify its last digit to add two more digits that the manual instruction did not indicate. had to read about Gateway IP in Google forum to understand what i was doing wrong. simple for some and a challenge to new guys like me. what a headache

I am adding an Amcrest camera to a Hikvision DS-7604NI 4 channel. I'm adding it to channel 3. I changed the IP address to 192.168.254.101 and the default gateway to 192.168.254.1 and saved it. Then I got a message that the camera could not be contacted. I then thought maybe because the camera is going on port 3 and Hikvision numbered the other cameras on port 1 and 2 as numbers 2 and 3, that I should number this camera 192.168.254.404 but I can't number it 404; it won't allow me. What do you suggest?

You need to match the camera IP address to that assigned to NVR PoE port #3 - or assign NVR PoE port #3 to the camera IP address.
They both need to be the same, and in the range used by the NVR PoE interface, usually 192.168.254.x

The fields of an IP address range from 0-255 only.

@TheLegend, thanks to your write-up, I was able to get my 5mp Amcrest POE connected to my Hikvision NVR! I had been searching for over a week and finally ran across your posting, so I created an account to comment.

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to enable the H.265 compression on that channel, like I can on my 3 other OEM cameras. Is this just because I’m using a 3rd-party camera or is there something I’m missing? All I see is the H.264 option...
