Outdoor petcam for coworker?

A coworker of mine wants to watch his dogs in his back yard. Area is approximately 40' X 80' from his guesstimate. He wants to see his back fence as people walk by there. He does not want to be able to ID people at this distance, just to see if someone is back there messing with his dogs or what not. He has a power outlet and said he can run an Ethernet cable. Of course PoE is also possible. He said he does not care about how good the low light settings are.

I'm thinking maybe he should get something like this?

Maybe in the 3.6. He wants to keep an eye on his dogs so he wants a wide view, doesn't care about much detail that far away.

Any other suggestions for something inexpensive?

If you are not concerned about low light or intruder detection, there are a lot of generic Chinese camera options on eBay with IR and POE for under $40 that would probably work just fine to start off with.
Here is a (supposedly Dahua but does it matter for this purpose?..maybe not) 4mp for example for $55.

If he gets more interested or serious about security, then go a little pricier.
