Hi Folks

I intend to run 2 ipc IPC-HDW5231R-Z using blue iris.

Will this computer : Win 10 pro Ver: 1703
Intel(R) Core(TM) I-5, 3450S @ 2.80GHz 3.4GHz
Ram: 8GB

be powerful enough to cope ?

Thanks

It will work no problem...note that most pc's with that processor are mini/ultra slim units that cannot house a full 3.5 drive.

Not a fan of USB or Nas for primary video storage and Playback

Hi Fenderman; to what degree? Is it unworkable or just preferable to use an internal drive ?
i just notice folks have issues with those types of setups...
the difference in price to get a full tower or even a sff that support a 2.5 for ssd and a single 3.5 is negligible..this way you can record locally on the tower/sff then if you wish also clone the cameras and record to the nas...

Ok, thanks for reply.
I emailed Blue Iris support and others may find this helpful. Of course this info is in support of the answers I have received here.
Its a supplement
They said "That processor itself is fine. Just be aware of how much you are attempting to process, and moderate this until the CPU performance is at a reasonable level.

And the number of cameras would not be the metric you want to use, but rather the overall MP/s ... megapixels/second."

They also do a 15 day free use of the software. I can include the link if that is permissable.

Ive got the cams but am doubtful how I should proceed. I can see there are various options.

Blu Iris, nvr, smart pss other software..... sd cards....

My wants are to record and monitor the 2 cams outputs with continuous recording and motion detection. To be able to copy any footage excerpts to other storage media. I dont want to keep recorded footage for longer than 7 days.

To easily use my win10pc and android smartphone and or ipad for this monitoring

Which is my simplest and best route ?
