Hi

I already have some 5231R-Z cameras and i would like to install some 5831R-ZEDahua Technology - Leading Video Surveillance Solution Provider with CCTV Products, IP Camera, PTZ, HDCVI products, NVR, Intelligent Building, Intelligent Transportation and Software - Dahua Technology for outdoor.

Any one can advice me regarding the quality during night time. Will the 5831R-ZE be better than the 5231R-Z ?

Regards

The 8mp, will be worse. More megapixels equals less light hitting the sensor.

Thanks for your reply

I checked your link but 5830 is not a starlight model but seems good for day time and not too bad at night.

Is 5831R-ZE a starlight model ?

I also notice that the Minimum Illumination is:

for 5231R-Z,
Code:
0.006Lux/F1.4 ( Color,1/3s,30IRE) and 0.05Lux/F1.4 ( Color,1/30s,30IRE)

and for 5831R-ZE
Code:
0.05Lux/F1.4 (Color,1/3s,30IRE) and 0.2Lux/F1.4 (Color,1/30s,30IRE)
(same as 5830)

What would be the best for night (sorry for this dumb question) ?

Regards

Hi 0blar, neither 58xx models are starlight models. The 8 MP starlight version is a box camera version and after you buy a lens for it probably will be close to $1000
