Help CPU is maxed out!

I just installed it on my custom built PC blue iris with only 4 cameras and it's maxing out the CPU at 100%. Had to shut it down for fear of overheating. Any ideas on what could cause this?

What cpu do you have also sounds like to need direct to disk turned on is it?

It is an i9 core so shouldn't be a problem. What is direct to disk and where can I find it?

i9 why did you get such a high end cpu it’s waste unless your running 20 plus cameras ... you need to look at the link above fix your BI settings .

Omg dude you have no clue, we are trying to help you !! Buy the software it’s only 60.00 once you setup BI the right way it won’t use any cpu .. again you need to setup your bi right. You won’t find better software for the price.

Let's see I have five cameras, 4x2mp and 1x4mp, running on an old i7 and it uses about 20%. It's that high because I don't have onboard Intel graphics on the MB. Yeah, BI won;t work for you.

How much you willing to pay PER camera licensing? If you see other choices why don't you try them....

If you see "other choices" just go ahead and try them. Expecting a fully implemented package for free isn't going to happen with any of them. If it hasn't occurred to you yet, a lot of us have been there and done that with the "other choices" and BI wins, hands down. The most flexible, capable and cost effective choice available.

I don't see how could a demo cause 100% usage on i9, that's nonsense.

Blue Iris Update Helper - it has currently broken certificate, so some browsers might not let you in

I would guess that Demo might use 2x more CPU than HW accelerated full version.

Yes nejakenick, reading through some threads, it appears this forum has fallen to "group mind" and resistant to any other options or opinions. It is sad they can never accept something better because they've already determined the "best" and nothing could ever change that.
