Hi, i am newbie in IP cam stuff.

Bought DS-2CD3132F-IW from a colleague of mine. First problem is that i don't think this is an official model? I think its a knock off of DS-2CD2132F-IW. Please correct me if i am wrong

Second thing. Is it possible to send SMS alerts using this camera?

Third thing. Is it possible to send email alerts using this camera? I am trying to set up SMTP settings, read through multiple threads and tried multiple emails and SMTP settings it it just shows error testing failed. I have read something about older firmware not being able to send email alerts. Please shed me some light on this.

Fourth thing - is it somehow possible to set up cloud storage recording on this cam?

Fifth thing - it is not possible to update FW on this camera is it?

I know this is a lot of questions, but would appreciate if someone could educate me on at least few of them.

Details of my camera:

Model DS-2CD3132F-IW
Serial No. DS-2CD3132F-IW20160407CCCH588262115
Firmware Version V5.2.5 build 141201
Encoding Version V5.0 build 140714

Not so much a knock-off, it's a Chinese market DS-2CD2132F-IW, very likely running 'hacked to English' firmware installed by the seller.

Yes, these can be converted to English / updateable and fully updated, by following this method :
Unbrick and fully upgrade your R0 / DS-2CD2x32 IP cameras -
R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

If you do decide to have a go - enable telnet on the current 5.2.5 firmware and check the value of the devType code in the prtHardInfo command, and per the how-to guide.

Did you manage to upgrade your camera? Would you happen to have gotten the devtyp code for this camera? If so, I would really appreciate if you could share it to us? I have the same camera and missed to get this before I updated.

He has (helpfully) provided the devType code for the DS-2CD3132F-IW.
A bit after the event, though.
This is needed to do the 'enhanced MTD hack' to convert this R0 camera to English / updateable.
I need to update my devType list.

Hi, I am new to IP cameras.

I hope someone can help me, I fitted a CCTV system to my house about 4 years ago this consisted of 4x dome cameras DS-2CD3132F-IWS and 1x NVR DS-7108N-SN/P, I started having issues with the cameras starting to fogging up during the night and couldn't see anything, I started reading the reviews online about the fogging issues and one of the first things people say to do, is to check the firmware is up to date on the NVR and cameras, well this is where my problems started I managed to get the firmware to update my NVR then updated the NVR now it continues to start-up and shutdown. I've tried a number of resets but nothing has worked, the question is I have bought a new NRV DS-7604NI-K1/4P does anyone know if my cameras will work with the new NVR or will I need to update my
cameras and if I need to update the cameras does anyone have a walkthrough the cameras are running on v5.2.5build 141201.

I'd speculate that the -N (as opposed to -NI) NVR is a Chinese NVR, and has been 'bricked' by applying EN/ML firmware.

I have bought a new NRV DS-7604NI-K1/4P does anyone know if my cameras will work with the new NVR
The cameras will be fine with that NVR - provided they are not Chinese cameras.
If they respond as Chinese, they will be rejected with a 'Language mismatch' error.
If they are - best not to update them.
You should be able to query the cameras as follows, using this URL in your browser, when the PC IP address is in the same range as that used by the cameras :
http://:<camera_IP_address>/SDK/Language

By the way - fogging on domes is a physical problem, nothing to do with any firmware versions.

Thanks for the quick reply,
Do you think I can recover my NVR-DS-7108N-SN/P and stop the rebooting, if so can you tell me what is the most up to date firmware for this NVR?.
when I receive my new NVR how do I check that is firmware is UK updatable?

Ask the supplier of the new NVR if it is an international updatable model, if that was not clearly stated on the listing.

Hi Alastair, thank for the quick response.
I received my new NVR and it worked a treat, I just plug the cameras in and they appeared on the screen. I have updated the firmware on the NVR to the newest firmware, as for the camera the picture is a lot better with the new NVR but there is still some fogging issues, should I upgrade my cameras to 4Mp IP DS-2CD2347G1 or is there any easy fix for my cameras .
