Attention before upgrading, make sure your system no hacked Chinese models, or else the cams can't connect to the NVR anymore after updating. Also make sure your NVR is original english one and can be updated.
I can send firmware to 1-2 guys for testing firstly. Anyone is interesting, can contact me.

I would be interested in this firmware if it is the Dahua branded version. I have NVR and only cameras purchased from you Andy. Actually getting ready to order 2 more cameras from you. Thanks!

It should be, since it starts with DH (otherwise, should be General_NVR5XXX-4KS2.....).
I'm interested as well ....:)

Hmm.. Looks like no go for me - have one of 4431R-Z watching the road. What about compatibility to generic ONVIF cameras? Will they work? Pretty expensive NVR if it only works with Dahua cameras

Good point that I never thought of (with respect to the chinese market cameras). Sometimes restrictions like this work, and sometimes they backfire. Sure makes BI look more attractive. Onvif cameras work for recording the video, but IVS doesn't work, so onvif support is of little practical value. I chose an external poe switch to keep the investment in the nvr down, and it's looking more and more like a good decision.

Difference between non PoE and PoE version isn’t that much.

Depends on the definition of "that much" of course. Right now, on andy's ali store the added cost for 5216-4ks2 internal poe is $82 (30% additional), and on the amazon store it's an even $100 (31% more). I picked up a 28 port managed poe switch for about $75, pretty much breaking even. All I'm trying to say is if I ever want to walk away from the nvr, it will be $82 to $100 easier, and if I go to BI I had to buy the external switch anyway.

I could not fit them both into the enclosure that I wanted so I went to all in one.
Need confirmation from someone on the firmware limitations with non Dahua official cameras. IVS/Motion sensing - don't care. For those I have official ones. Just need to be sure that others can still record and maybe NVR to receive an alarm message from the camera

Excellent question! Only somebody actually experimenting with the new firmware and chinese market cameras will be able to answer for sure. My expectation is that if you connect to the camera using onvif you'll be able to record the video and do nothing else. The test pilot won't be me. My 5216-4ks2 is doing everything I need it to with the current firmware, and I'm not going to risk losing use of the chinese market cameras that currently work exactly the same as the international cameras, other than the sensitivity of the image sensor.

The only thing that I want fixed is the image notification delay. On the camera image is instant, but instead of that image NVR sends the one it captures itself X seconds later

Does this new firmware fix inability to seek within the video when viewing exported .dav files in software media players? Is that what mp4 export file option is about?

What is the second newest firmware that still allows for use of Chinese cameras? I just realized I haven’t updated my nvr in a really long time
