Hello guys!
I've got the same camera, dismounted it and i was glad because it really has hi3516d(letter "D" should be printed an next line) and ov4689.
Have you tested h.265 encoding? I see some newer NVRs with h265 support, but still no PC-based NVR software available.

Btw, in case someone interested, there is varifocal option with the same hardware using Longse firmware which in my opinion is better. Also got me thinking if anyone is willing to flash the Longse firmware on this cam. There is a possibility of bricking it obviously...

The original firmware on this camera is much like the TOP-201 camera lineup (one which I have a spare). If the Longse firmware can be installed on the hardware for this 4MP camera, I wonder if I can flash it to the TOP-201? I might just try it since I don't have an active use for the TOP right now. If I brick it I only lose out on about $20.

If you are willing to try you can download Longse below, just make sure to match chipset/sensor. I am pretty sure that it may not work but still curios of it's possible

@ andrew82 Tx for the pictures! It looks the same as mine. Do you know the meaning of BLK3516A in the left corner? What means the letter "A" instead letter "D"? I'm still a little skeptical about whether it is an original product, because prices for the modul ONLY starts on aliexpress by about USD 60. And as opposed to vincenttor I can only set H.264 in menu.

Hi everybody! Pls see the attached pic. Row one shows settings of a cheap german-cam, who works perfectly with it. Row 2&3 shows the same settings on the china-cam and nothing works! Does anybody has an idea, what could be wrong? Thanks in advance! Not working.JPG

Sorry , not sure whats wong there.
My guess is the SSL settings, there are many ssl ways for FTP to connect.
Could be it has the wrong setting but then again i never use this method.

Just a little message, the camera is still up and running despite the heat it produces ;)

On my cam, FTP and Mail does not work at all. So we could try to flash with Longse firmware, if you can help me with it. No problem, if it bricks.

If you are willing to try that you can use IPCSearch tool. If your cam didn't come with it I can share it. The latest version on Longse site appears to be broken.

I do not have IPCSearch Tool, but on the CD is a Device Manager with update function. But i think, i could update directly in the cam, because there is a local update function, but i need a .bin file. Where can i get it?

You won't be able to load via web interface. Use the attached Searcher tool (which btw detects Huisun cams and Hikvision NVR too, but not Hikvision cams), it's an older version which works, the one on the hero site did not work for me when I attempted to upgrade firmware on my Longse camera.

Longse firmware is available here http://herospeed.net/herospeed/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=lists&catid=7

More specifically this is the one that matches HI3516D + OV4689 chipset+sensor http://herospeed.net/herospeed/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=15&id=7

Please keep in mind since you are applying firmware from another manufacturer there is a very high chance of bricking your camera. I do not take any responsibility for whatever the outcome on this, but I fully support the brave who are willing to try this out for the greater good! :)

I tried with IPC ST, but it does not work. After download the .flv file i wanted to open with IPC ST and clicked on "upgrade", but nothing happened.

@klasipca Did you ever have a similar problem too? The "Upgrade"-Button does not react at all.

Hi
I have 4 bricked cameras I bought from Techage all based on Hi3516D + OV4689 Chip set.

Techage H.265 4MP CCTV Camera System 4CH POE NVR Kit Outdoor IP66 4MP IP Camera P2P Onvif HD Video Security Surveillance Set-in Surveillance System from Security & Protection on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

They worked fine for about 4 months then 3 failed . No respone ,no ip address , all network lights OK , IR leds OK . I suspect something went wrong when my NVR monthly reset occurred and for some reason a new IP address was assigned (even though DHCP disabled). Techage did not want to know about my problems. They did offer a $10 discount to buy 4 more cameras !.

I suspect that my only option is to force a new firmware update and reset config?

Anyone able to help please?
