Updates.
- As mentioned prior, After dark, 40x zoom and beyond, it won't focus. Daytime, no issue.
- After dark it will lose focus. Example: Car drives past, cam lose's focus.
- It takes something else to cross the field of view for the focus to correct it's self....at least in my viewing experience.
- Only happens periodically.
- The IR does a really nice job of illuminating the scene, even with faces.
- Nice camera, hopefully a firmware update can solve the issues.
- No other glitches after running 24/7 since July 21st.

Thanks for the update. Just ordered one of these from Andy. My plan is to use it in the back of the house as my view cam. It will probably be set in color mode 24/7, so I'm not too worried about the night vision. I'm going to install it in the same location as this camera.

I just saw that Dahua has uploaded newer firmware for this cam.
I'll have to give this a shot see if it helps the focus issues.

I was considering ordering, but it looks like the prices have dropped significantly (good)...but the model isn't on the Dahua web page any longer. Is this model discontinued in favor of the "laser" options?

My camera arrived yesterday. Although I ordered a while back, Andy said that the stock for this model comes a little late. This looks like a very nice camera from my initial impression. I will be moving it slightly later today from it's current position. The focus on the zoom does seem it little slow. I may post something today. As I mentioned above, I run color 24/7, so I won't be using the night vision IR. Here is the firmware my camera arrived with.

Not sure where you are looking, but the links in the first post all work. Price has not changed. Cam is still on the Dahua site.
