for some reason the NACL plugin/app is not working on my new 45x. It operates the camera, but I get one single shot and then it's frozen, controls still work but basically a screen shot. It works fine with my other cameras.

I've also have Smart PSS 2.00.2 and it works fine. Unfortunately it does not allow for all adjustments.
And, I have PSS v4.06 which came off the CD included with the camera. It looks nice but it will not accept the camera password. Looks like my password is longer than the software will accept.

I'm using Chrome. The NACL has actually shown up on my start menu and I can access directly.

Hello,
After 2 weeks of using the camera I can report the following experiences.
Good things first.
Very good quality of the housing
Zoom class
Good infrared illumination at close range

Unfortunately I also have some problems I don't know from my SD 49SD49225T-HN

The bit rate can only be set to max. 4608 for h265 (too low for 50 FPS)
PFA works better with my SD 49SD49225T
Autotracking rarely works well, the camera misses the target when zooming and is then a few meters away from it. Sometimes the target is briefly fixed and then the camera pans onto the house wall or into the sky.
Weak focus at night at distances over 70m
I think the camera has potential but it urgently needs a firmware update.

you dont need more than 4600 bitrate for h.265 on a 2mp camera even at 50fps, and you certainly dont need 50fps...if you are trying to shoot a movie with an ip camera you have the wrong hardware. Auto tracking always was and always will be a gimmick with these cameras, the only true way to do it is will a second wide angle camera that tells the tracker where to look and have two or more tracking cameras.

From Looney's video, I'm going to concur with Fred's conclusion. In the Sky at 6mins 26secs of the Night video (when towards the end it reverts to daylight), you can see feint macro blocking in the clouds in the sky. A clear sign of compression issues. Whereas it might be usable at the current rate, it would benefit from more in my opinion. Hard to understand why they haven't offered h265 on a new camera and with an option for 10mbs as they have often offered in the past with h264.

Another issue immediately apparent to me is it's massively over sharpened at the wide end of the zoom but not the telephoto (Signs of poor soft telephoto lens performance maybe, compensated for by setting the sharpening level to very high?)

Have you purchased an ip camera yet or are you still comparing these surveillance cameras to professional video gear? Go ahead and record and record a 2mp camera at a 10k bitrate, when you finally buy a camera...dont forget to purchase lots of storage..

Hey Fender, I don't disagree that high bitrates may be an issue if you're a pro running 20 or 30 cameras on a network. However, it would be nice to have a higher bit rate option for those people who maybe have a lot fewer cameras and are prepared to compromise on storage duration or size for quality.

No it is absolutely absurd even if you are running 1 camera. It is simply not need and foolish. These companies cater to the surveillance market not someone in his garage who wants to film a movie with an ip camera. Buy yourself a professional video camera to record your cinema for the big screen.

Thanks cctvCam macro blocking is the word I was missing. I called it blurriness.
There is just not only one purpose. For my needs I need a higher frame rate. Recently one of my donkeys jumped over the fence, I had a cheaper camera with 20 frames per second. I couldn't find the reason for the escape, because there was only a small, black, blurred line on the camera that was moving towards the donkey. Exactly therefore the SD6 was purchased for the monitoring with 50 FPS, not to shoot videos in High End. Now I have to state that the SD49 is superior in almost all areas and that at half price.

One problem however... and I believe this issue has been mentioned elsewhere: when adding presets to a tour the duration of each present which is added to the tour must be 15-seconds (or greater). For example: editing a tour preset to a "5" (second) value is not possible and the interface changes the "5" to a "15."

I'm wondering if there is a firmware update that corrects this issue?

Has anyone opened up their 45x to install a memory card? I just opened mine up to install one and there is no memory card holder. There are also no dip switches as indicated in the manual. What's up with that? This is not really going to work where I planned for it to be installed.

I have not, but I'm sure there is a SD card slot. They are sometimes hard to find on the boards.
Dip switches do not apply to IP cams, so there isn't any. The manual is purely generic for all models, thus pretty much useless.

With a little digging found it. That'll teach me to read the instructions. It's on the camera module and obscured by a bundle of wires zip tied over it. Had to get a flashlight out.

That's not good. It hunts like an SLR camera from when autofocus 1st came out.

Puzzled as to why it looks at the flowers in the 1st place. Doesn't the camera use BI as a trip source or does it insist on using it's own internal detection as well / instead of?

on the video is nice to see what problems the Camara has. Between second 17 and 50 this becomes particularly clear. Maybe now someone understands what I mean. The SD4925 doesn't have these problems.

I manually moved the camera to the location of the flowers because I like to look at flowers.

is nice to see what problems the Camara has. Between second 17 and 50 this becomes particularly clear.

The camera has a problem focusing when it is zoomed all the way in; the 17 to 50 second focus was me manually focusing the camera.

I don't mean focusing, I mean flickering and macroblocking. What is your video code setting? Don't you also have an SD4925?
