Nice to see native 2mp cameras being sold..i, like many others run my hiks in 2mp (most of them anyway) because of the added horizonal fov and also to reduce the vertical fov (dont need to record the sky)...the native 2mp cams should also have better night and low light vision...
The 2110F-iw and 2120F-iw should also have sd card slots and allow for 3 axis adjustment...but its not mentioned on your site...can you confirm that?

@fenderman, sure enough, they are 3 axis and have an SD card slot. Thanks for mentioning that! Site updated.

Technically all the 2MP cameras for sale are $120, and the $100 cams are 1MP.

I'm curious how the 2MP versions compare to their 3MP brothers in 1080p mode.

According to the hikvision europe site, the 2032's min illumination is 0.07 lux, and the 2020 listed in this thread is the same. However the older 2MP model not listed in this thread, the 2022, is listed as 0.01 lux minimum.

I don't think I trust Hikvision's specs because the old 1.3MP bullet, DS-2CD2012-I, has conflicting minimum illumination specs depending on which site you look at.
0.028 lux@F2.0, AGC ON from the USA site
versus
0.01 lux @F1.2, AGC ON from the Europe site

The specs disagreement does not fill me with confidence.

I wonder this, too. We need somebody to test :) I actually run my 3 MP cube in 1 MP because my wife logs in remotely and uses the "clean" stream.

I wonder if the 1 MP version of it compares well to the 3 MP running at 1 MP.

Generally a native 1mp camera will perform better in low light and night vision.

Yes, but on the other hand a 3MP camera should produce markedly better 1 MP video under plenty of light, if the camera uses a good scaling algorithm.

Hey Guys, I did do a quick test @ 1080p with defaults and there was a decent picture right out of box with "medium" settings.

I'll see if I can capture a side by side with the 3MP soon.

Yeah, major difference. Lol @bp2008. They were manufactured by the same company, different models though. :tranquillity:

Seriously, the lower pic is facing upward more, and sees more of the lights, pushing it into a faster exposure time which makes the whole image darker.

I wish you could set a fixed exposure time but with Hikvision cams I believe the only option is to limit how slow the auto exposure will go.

I believe its a legitimate difference and not just a response to the lighting..you can see this disparity when you compare 1.3mp cams to 3mp...maybe @RyanODan can repeat the test with the cams side by side displaying the same view..

Those cameras were sitting side by side but one was angled a little more than the other. I only had a few minutes to throw those on the bench yesterday. I'll try to set some time aside today to confirm and post actual side by sides instead of upside down amateur shots of what should've been a comparison. lol

I'd say the title is misleading unless you actually have a 2MP camera for $99, which you don't.
