guys

i currently have a camera on my garage (10ft height) that looks at my driveway and patio. Now I already have a motion sensor light that's not working but that I'm planning to replace with this kuna
Camera Floodlight

Problem is the fixture and electric connection is on the house at about 8ft height and diagonally opposite and between my driveway and patio. I won't be turning on the motion sensor as it'll keep going on and off with wind when the tree leaves move or when it sees cats in the backyard. However I want the ability to light up the backyard and watch from my 2nd floor bedroom if I hear any noises at night since it's quite dark in the backyard. Would I expect the cameras to get blinded when I turn the light on? It's 5000 lumens but I have the ability to dim the power to it

Thanks

Using a motion activated floodlight is a little "iffy". The camera will be in "night mode". Action happens and the floodlight turns on. The camera has to switch back to day mode and there is an inherent delay of one to three or four seconds depending on the specific camera. You miss the motion since the camera is essentially blind during that time. Either use always on floodlights or use an IR illuminator instead.

My front security light is always on in the dim mode at night. When activated it comes on to full power slowly and works just fine with my cameras.

It's camera dependent and I'd guess a Starvis/Starlight would be able to stay in color mode all the time with no problem. If it has to switch back and forth, color to BW, then there's a loss of useful video.
