Hi, I have been running BI on a dedicated PC for about a year now with the recommended Dahua cams. I am still learning how to use all the features of BI, but I have been wondering what is the benefit of recording to a micro SD card? Currently, I don't have any sd cards installed on any of my cams.......should I?

Thanks!

Ok, thanks!
You may want to read this thread: Why use SD card in an outdoor camera?
And look for card recommendations from recent card purchases as the technology has changed. Also if you are planning to record in HD your card will be overwritten more frequently than looney2ns' and will fail sooner as he records in SD. On Amazon there are many recent reviews of EVO cards dying prematurely in cams, Raspberry Pi's etc. where they are constantly written to.
