Indeed they were demonstrating how well the ePoE works over any kind of cable or conductor for that matter. So you can basically use any 2 wires to connect the cameras to the NVR or ePoE switch, this is mostly useful with old coaxial cables.
I was also quite amazed by the max distance, it worked with over 900 meters (3000 feet) of UTP cable
