I am just wondering of many of you see value in having you cameras up on a monitor or dedicated TV at home. The past few weeks I have been doing this and I really like being able to glance over and see that my driveway and front door are ok. I am even able to go meet the UPS guys at the door and go help him as he is pulling up.

I am thinking of installing wall mounted tables in the areas where we hang out the most for the same reason.
I don't want to be obsessive about this whole security system - it is bad enough wanting to collect cameras and wanting to try several models. (get expensive quick).

Thank you, I was unable to locate the search "field" until sometime today after I posting this.

Thank you, great idea @Q
It's not my idea bro. You should browse to ui3.htm. If your current TV has a browser -- and if your TV is on your camera subnet -- try it out. As an example, I browse to my Blue Iris server at the IP address 192.168.1.92:80/ui3.htm and I see this (which was developed by IpCamTalk member BP2008)...

I meant to say, good suggestion. Eitherway I appreciate you sharing that info. By the way that is awesome and looks really clean.

My bad, I thought you were running Blue Iris which is the coolest software I've ever owned; it has a very special feature which results in your spending a lot of money on a lot of ip cameras.

UI3 is amazing and generally that’s how I review recorded video. I also have the video output from my BI PC going to an 8-port HDMI splitter. I have HDMI feeds from there to every tv in the house. I also have a dedicated monitor in my office and living room that has BI live view up 24/7. I have a wireless keyboard/mouse for BI and it works at any of my TVs if I need to tweak settings.

As much as the wife calls me paranoid I know she loves being able to glance at the monitor and know if anyone is on the property. It’s great for keeping an eye on the dog too :)
